David is a globally recognized spoken word poet. He competed in US National slam competitions and has been televised nationwide several times, most recently on KTLA’s prime-time award-winning series “Breaking Bias” for his poetic activism. David is the creator of Spinema™ the art form he dubs “spinning cinema through spoken word.” David has produced over a dozen high-concept spoken word films. He has minted several NFTS including the world’s first Award-Winning Spoken Word Film NFT that auctioned successfully with all proceeds being donated to the George Floyd Memorial Foundation.
He has written spoken word for films, including the Sundance Selected Feature Film "Filly Brown" Starring Golden Globe Winner Gina Rodriguez. He also produced "You Can't Hear Me" alongside Emmy Nominated and Grammy Award Winning actor/poet Malcolm Jamal Warner. The film was screened at Cannes Film Festival. His most recent poetic film won Best Short film of 2021 by Film Threat Magazine.
He is widely known for producing spoken word Spiname™ films through his company Exertion Films. He has produced films with his celebrity collaborators including Mustafa Shakir, Joivan Wade, Gina Rodriguez, and Lisa Nichols.
